COVID-19 June 2020 Update

Dear Munhall Vet Clients,

We thank you for your support, cooperation and patience over the last several months, it truly has been a trying time for everyone but we are glad that we have been able to stay open, operate safely and serve your pets in time of need.  As Allegheny County moves into the green phase at the end of this week, we are happy to announce that starting on Monday, June 8th, clients and their pets will be able to come back into the building by appointment only.  Here are the rules that we will require clients to follow while we remain in the green phase:

  1. Clients with appointments – 1 client per pet(s) is permitted in the building. In an effort to reduce the number of people in the building, we will still require you to call when you are in the parking lot and wait in your car until a technician calls you when a room is available.  A technician will open the front door and escort you to the exam room.  Please, to the best of your ability, do not touch any door handles, your technician will open and close the doors for you.  When checking out, your technician will process payment in the exam room.  We are still preferring that clients use credit/debit cards or CareCredit, we are still accepting cash but prefer card payments.
  2. Clients without appointments – If you are picking up prescription or food items, we still require clients to call ahead and prepay for these items. Once in the parking lot, give us a call letting us know you are here and we will place your items in the foyer (area between the two doors).  Please do not enter the building if you are picking up items and do not have an appointment, you must call ahead and prepay for these items.  Our reception space is small and this is to protect our staff members and to help reduce the spread of the virus in our local community.
  3. **Every client who enters our building is required to wear a mask** If you cannot wear a mask due to medical disabilities, we will require that you wait in your car while your pet is examined inside the building. If you still prefer to wait in your car while your pet is being examined or you prefer a telemedicine appointment (where applicable), these options are still available upon request.

As mentioned in previous newsletters, we continue to sterilize commonly touched surfaces and encourage sick employees to stay home.  We are in the process of obtaining and installing plexiglas at the reception desk, please bear with us as we renovate our reception area.

Again, we thank everyone for their cooperation and support.  Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff of Munhall Vet Hospital

Telemedicine Appointments

Dear Munhall Vet Clients,

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we are trying to better serve our clients and pets by offering the option to schedule a telemedicine appointment.  We have created a Skype account under the username munhallstaff@gmail.com.  You will need to create a Skype account for us to do video chat.  Our receptionists have been given guidelines as to which sick appointments may be scheduled as a telemedicine appointment.  Should the doctor think that it is necessary for her to physically examine your pet, we have set aside time in the afternoon for you to bring your pet in to have the necessary treatments performed in the hospital.  If the doctor prescribes medication during your telemedicine appointment, we will fill the medication for you in our hospital and have you come pick up the medication at your earliest convenience.  To schedule a telemedicine appointment, we require payment over the phone, cash will not be available as a payment option.

If you do not have access to Skype or a computer with a camera, we will still do our best to conduct a telemedicine appointment over the phone.  If possible, you can also send pictures to our munhallstaff@gmail.com account and we can try to diagnose your pet’s ailments.

Again, we thank you for your support and we look forward to helping you and your pets as we navigate through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff of Munhall Vet Hospital
